One Seed Chicago

One Seed Chicago is a not-for-profit aiming to engage current gardeners, nurture new gardeners to green Chicago by growing gardens across the City.

 

Each year One Seed Chicago nominate 3 plants to be the focus of a season-long celebration, alternating between a vegetable and a flower. Residents from the Chicagoland area vote on their favorite. One Seed distributes, for free, seeds of the winning plant as part of the season-long celebration.

Teachers can request a classroom size packet along with an educator guide.

One Seed Chicago is a project of NeighborSpace, Chicago’s land trust for community gardens.
